What is Sky

Sky is a next-generation decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol that evolved from MakerDAO. It introduces a more scalable and user-friendly system built around the USDS stablecoin, a savings mechanism, staking options, and cross-chain connectivity. Through its platform, Sky.money, users can save, earn rewards, and govern the protocol in a non-custodial way while retaining full control over their assets. The ecosystem also supports independent projects, known as Sky Stars, and operates under the governance framework called the Sky Atlas.

What is SKY Token

The SKY token is the governance token of the Sky Protocol, replacing MakerDAO’s MKR. It gives holders the ability to participate in protocol governance, stake tokens to earn rewards, and use them within the ecosystem for features like borrowing USDS. SKY is an ERC-20 token with advanced functionality, and MKR holders can convert their tokens to SKY at a fixed 1:24,000 ratio. It is the foundation of decision-making and community participation in the Sky ecosystem.
